Extended information:

Trans-Atlantic Training is the series of RS/EO training and capacity building activities with focus on methods and technologies of EO  with support of ESA, NASA and SCERIN.
Students and early-career scientists are welcome to attend this training, especially students and early-career scientists of SCERIN network from the Eastern, Central and South Europe and Baltic states.

The topic of TAT-7 is “Radar and Optical Remote Sensing in the Agricultural and Environmental Monitoring”.  Lectures and training activities will be focused on the evaluation of land use/land cover change and the monitoring of agricultural and environmental aspects by using different types of sensors. The first part shall deal with SAR data – Sentinel-1 mission. Applications of SAR data in the LCLUC dynamics will be presented during theoretical and practical sessions. The second part of TAT-7 will be thematically focused on the new trends in classification of land use/land cover using optical remote sensing with emphasis on Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 missions.

Lecturers of TAT-7 will be experts of EO/RS, e.g:

  •    Francesco Sarti, ESA – Esrin, Italy
  •    Pierre-Louis Frison, UPEM/IGN
  •    Martin Sudmanns, University of Salzburg
  •    Garik Gutman, NASA Headquarters
  •    Petya Campbell, NASA/GSFC and University of Maryland Baltimore County
